Music Director, Across The Tracks
ACROSS THE TRACKS
Fridays, 1:00PM to 3:45PM Eastern Time
You can listen to the full spectrum of blues every Friday afternoon on Across The Tracks with Keith Mulhare. You can hear the varied incarnations of the blues, in all
its glorious flavors. Whether the music is tinged with soul, swing, jazz country or rock,
if its true and blue and sounds good you can get it here. Acoustic and electric, from
Robert Johnson to Robert Cray, Keith will present authentic blues from the legends of
yesterday and today as well as the up and comers of tomorrow. You may also hear rare gems
from under recognized artists. The mission of this show is to inform, educate and
entertain the hard core enthusiast while expanding the audience for this indigenous
American art form. The fascinating world of blues is for everybody.
Keith Mulhare was first introduced to the blues by the British Blues invasion of the
1960s, often disguised in a rock setting by bands such as Cream, John Mayalls
Blues Breakers, Savoy Brown, the original Fleetwood Mac and early Rolling Stones. Research
into the original American authors of some of this covered material opened a new horizon.
Born and bred in North Jersey, Keith has been an avid record collector for many years and
programs the show from his own extensive collection as well as from the current rotation
of new releases in the station library. Keith also indulges his passion for the music as a
working musician. He invites your comments about the music to firstname.lastname@example.org.
